Niemeyer

Dr. David Niemeyer is Board Certified in General Surgery and completed fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery at Carolinas Medical Center. He is interested in all aspects of general surgery with particular focus in minimally invasive surgical treatment of both benign and malignant diseases of the liver and pancreas.

As a fellowship-trained hepatobiliary and pancreas surgeon, Dr. Niemeyer cares for patients with gallbladder disease and gallstones, bile duct problems, and benign and malignant tumors of the liver and pancreas. He also performs a full range of general surgery, including hernia repair and other abdominal operations. Whenever it is safe, he uses minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques, which mean smaller incisions, less pain and a faster recovery. Dr. Niemeyer is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and works closely with medical oncologists and gastroenterologists in Jacksonville to coordinate each patient’s care.

When Dr. Niemeyer is not in the operating room, he enjoys time with family, woodworking, and home improvement projects. As a native Midwesterner, he is an Ohio State Buckeyes fan.
