Our Doctors & Surgeons in Jacksonville, FL

Our doctors and surgeons are all board certified by the American Board of Surgery. After medical school, each completed a five-year surgical residency, and most added fellowship training in a surgical specialty such as bariatric, minimally invasive, liver and pancreas, or critical care surgery. Together they perform thousands of surgical procedures each year, using robotic surgery and laparoscopic techniques whenever possible for shorter recovery times. • Dr. Steven Hodgett, MD, FACS: board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric (weight loss) surgery.
• Dr. Mark Diebel, MD: general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery, with fellowship training in advanced GI surgery and surgical critical care.
• Dr. David Niemeyer, MD, FACS: board-certified general surgeon with fellowship training in hepatobiliary and pancreas surgery, focused on minimally invasive treatment of liver and pancreas disease.
• Dr. Craig Morgenthal, MD, FACS: board-certified general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgery of the gastrointestinal tract and abdomen.
• Dr. Courtland Polley, MD: general surgeon with additional training in breast surgical oncology and thyroid and parathyroid disease.
• Dr. Alexander Rose, MD, FACS: board-certified general surgeon and surgical critical care specialist, and one of the leading robotic surgeons in the Jacksonville area, focusing on colorectal, complex hernia and foregut surgery.
