    WHAT IS HEPATOBILIARY SURGERY?

This is surgery that focuses on correcting conditions and problems occurring in the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. Patients with problems with their gallbladder may have upper abdominal pain and nausea. Frequently gallstones or cholecystitis, or gallbladder inflammation, is the cause. Laparoscopic cholecystectomy, or gallbladder removal, is done with small incisions and usually the operation is done as an outpatient procedure.

    TYPES OF SURGERY WE OFFER

    BILE DUCT RESECTION

A bile duct is a tube-like structure that carries bile (a chemical used in digestion) to the small intestine. To teat bile duct cancer, a portion of the bile duct is removed.

    CHEMOEMBOLIZATION

With chemoembolization, chemotherapy is delivered directly to the tumor through a thin, flexible tube, or catheter. The procedure also cuts off the flow of blood and nutrients to the tumor and traps the chemotherapy drugs at the site, which makes them more effective.

    GALLSTONE SURGERY & LIVER RESECTION

We perform both open and laparoscopic gallstone surgery. During a liver resection surgery a portion of the liver is removed laparoscopically. This can lead to quicker recovery and shorter hospital stays.
